She was severely mentally distressed, covered in wounds, unable to walk, and barely able to speak. To those who found her, she appeared to be on the verge of death. Concerned villagers quickly alerted the police, who arranged her immediate transfer to Lalgadh Leprosy Hospital &amp; Services Center for urgent care.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nlt.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Anya-Devi.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"282\" height=\"423\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nlt.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Anya-Devi.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2905\" style=\"width:181px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nlt.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Anya-Devi.png 282w, https:\/\/www.nlt.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Anya-Devi-200x300.png 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 282px) 100vw, 282px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">At Lalgadh Leprosy Hospital &amp; Services Center, Anya Devi was admitted for treatment and received six months of free, dedicated inpatient care. The medical team provided not only essential treatment for her physical condition but also consistent compassion and support. Gradually, her wounds healed, her strength returned, and she regained the ability to stand and walk. As her condition improved, she was able to share a crucial detail\u2014her son\u2019s name\u2014offering the first clue to her identity and past.<br>Even as her health stabilized, one question remained: where could she go after discharge? Determined to find an answer, Lalit Majhi from the hospital\u2019s Socio-Economic Rehabilitation Department began tracing her background. On May 13, 2025, during a leadership training program at Lalgadh Leprosy Hospital &amp; Services Center, he shared her story and displayed her photograph. In a remarkable turn of events, a participant recognized her and helped connect the team with her family in Sarlahi district.<br>With this breakthrough, Lalit Majhi traveled to her village and, with the support of the local ward chairperson, arranged an emotional reunion. After 25 years of being missing\u2014long presumed dead by her family, who had even performed her last rites\u2014Anya Devi was finally reunited with her son and loved ones.<br>She spent her final months living with her family, surrounded by care, dignity, and love, before peacefully passing away.<br>Anya Devi\u2019s journey is a powerful testament to the life-changing impact of compassionate healthcare.
